Bedrijf: Our client is a public, multi-national company engaged in the engineering, manufacturing and servicing of advanced technology fluid handling.

Functie inhoud

The products of the company include pumps, valves, mechanical seals and related services. The markets served include petroleum, power (nuclear & fossil), chemical processing and other general industry services where the movement and control of fluids are critical. Customers are both in the public and private sectors.

The Pump Division is responsible for sales, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and testing of centrifugal pumps and pump packages to mainly the petrochemical and chemical industry.

The department produces high quality engineered pumps and pump installations for the utility industry, the petrochemical energy recovery (oil, water, and LPG production, well and re-injection pumps), petrochemical transport (crude oil product, ship loading and unloading, tank farm loading and unloading pumps, petrochemical (refining and process industry pumps and pumps for general industry).

Basic Function:

Develop and design of pump packages on the basis of customer specifications, national and international standards and internal procedures. Co-ordinate and plan the work with other engineering functions in order to meet the complete and on-time issue of contractual documents.

He operates in a Front Line Unit structure, performing the project engineering and directing the on cost, on time efforts of the engineering job activities in interpretation of quality requirements, preparation of specific order documents and job related calculations.

Responsibility:

The incumbent will also be responsible for coaching of engineering associates within the Front Line Unit to ensure:

• The review and evaluation of customer specifications related to technical acceptability and within the established project budget.
• The review and evaluation of supplier's quotations and documentation to verify the compliance with customer specifications.
• The participation in order kick-off meetings.
• The communication with sub vendors and customers, in the technical field to ensure on time delivery of the assigned projects.
• The co-ordination and assignment of engineering activities to other engineering functions, such as Product Engineering, Technical Support Functions, Draftsmen.
• The on-time issue of specifications, drawings, bill of materials, documentation for procurement and manufacturing purposes.
• Maintain control of the project engineering cost in line with the pre-established budget and the monitoring of the progress of the engineering activities, including the on-time submittal of engineering software.
• Implement contract variations after review and acceptance.

He is responsible for reporting the job status and planning conflicts on a regular basis to the Front Line Unit Manager. The position requires broad knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and materials engineering. Due to specific expertise obtained a Senior Engineer can also be assigned trouble shooting tasks and other engineering tasks, if the situation requires so.

• § Reduction in the number of ECN's and fast close out of NCR's;
• § The on-time delivery goal;
• § The improvement of the company's cash-flow situation.

Functie eisen

Education:     Technical education at a level of bachelor in mechanical engineering as a minimum.

                     Preferably Green Belt Certified

Industry:         Knowledge of the petrochemical industry in general and an extended knowledge of the specifications/requirements applicable in this industry is a plus.

Experience:    The function requires a minimum 3 years working experience in engineering of rotating equipment and within a customer oriented working environment. 

Competency:  To be able to communicate at all levels in the organization up to the operations management level.

Skills:             Fluently in foreign languages - Dutch, English and preferably German

Working knowledge of computer programs like Windows, Excel, and Word

Self motivation and drive to meet schedules
